Project Spotlight: San Francisco

Lauren here - When our client from San Francisco told us her goal was “tropical 70s vibes” we were ready to get started right away! We have always been inspired by 70s décor, and who doesn’t love tropical? It’s just so fun.

We started designing her primary suite right away. We had her amazing brass and lucite canopy bed to work with and landed on an Osborne & Little bright tropical wallpaper with matching fabric for the drapery. We chose a white Thibaut grass cloth for the ceiling and painted the fireplace in a coordinating teal color. The client loves pink, so we had fun picking out fuchsia bedding and pairing it with some interesting throw pillows.

In the primary bathroom we swapped out the existing sconces for Kelly Wearstler sconces, changed the accessories, added the same Osborne & Little wallpaper and splurged on a custom velvet fringe stool for her vanity. Which was totally worth it by the way!

In the powder room, we chose a vintage bamboo mirror that we touched up ourselves, rattan bathroom accessories, swapped out the sconce again as well as the TP holder and towel rings. We had Thibaut blue and white banana leaf wallpaper installed and it looks amazing.

After living with these lovely spaces for a while, the client has come back to us and asked us to reinvent her living room, dining and kitchen area. In the dining room we chose a tropical mural with soft colors, a Ladies & Gentlemen pendant, a black wood and rattan table, and Neuvo Living velvet dining chairs with a Williams Sonoma Home banquette in a performance grade teal fabric.

In the living room we sourced a modular sofa in a performance fabric, a custom Rug Art rug in teals and neutrals, and brass ombre bunching tables. We also sourced a Julian Chichester bar cabinet to host the most fabulous cocktail parties and a pair of black velvet and brass chairs with a white and brass table in between for game night. We love the black, teal and silver speckled wallpaper that we choose for the little game niche by Arte and Moooi. To top it all off we selected pink fringe pendants for over the kitchen island.
