Rachel's Outfit to Look
Following Heather and Pam, I am here to share my outfit to look! Flipping through the Free People magazine, I was drawn to this outfit(s) for the mix of textures, patterns and earthy tones. The way the layers of oversized pieces create a sense of undone-ness while still feeling put together. Individually complete outfits, harmonizing together with their mis-match plaid, worn leather, textural pieces, and hints of metal.

The Translation Process:
When beginning this room I was looking at the elements I had drawn out from the outfits above.
The mis-match plaid seen in different scale patterns with the plaid rug grounding the room, accent throw pillows on the sofa, and inlay tile on the coffee table.
From the earthy tones and textures, I drew from natural materials: wicker, tile, wood, leather, and iron of the table.
The oversized jackets, tailored cargo pants, long layered shirts, and flowy skirt all working together. There shapes together creating a sense of ease. I focused on pieces with interest in their shape and mix of texture. The vintage wicker IKEA chair with its sprawling legs, low weight slipper chairs adorn with buttons cuing to the jackets and hit of velvet for sheen, and a black leather cantilever sofa.
For a final touch, drawing from the hits of metal buttons on the jacket, a large thin arching floor lamp, brings in a hit of brass and grounds the space.
