When this young family decamped from San Francisco to nearby Piedmont for more space, they thought they would do some light decorating. Thorough space planning determined the need for different furniture configurations and larger pieces, and before we knew it we were designing the whole house. Asian pieces picked up when the couple lived in China and a navy palm leaf wallpaper from Serena and Lily set the design in motion. Natural, light materials form a through-line, from a grasscloth-clad coffee table to banana leaf chandeliers, cane, rattan, and bamboo. Happy color enlivens the spaces through textiles and the judicious use of rich paint. The client loves the flea market, strong color, and tribal motifs, and all are represented in a deft mix. Kitchen and bath renovations are currently underway!

"Heather Peterson Design works collaboratively to bring your dreams for your space to life. My home is now filled with layers, textures, splashes of life and color. It's stunning, yet comfortable, and it feels like every detail has been thoughtfully considered. We absolutely love just being "us" at home."
