22 Wins for 2022
Last year, inspired by my former business coach Desi Creswell, I made a list of 21 wins for 2021. It’s such a nice, casual way to remember the things—big and small—that marked the year in happy ways.
And so, again in no particular order, here are 22 wins for 2022!
Added a full time Procurement and Project Manager position. With the addition of Pam, our team is complete (for now….)
Welcomed the very first HPD baby! Our business manager Kate and her husband Sam welcomed Audrey Rose on October 20.
Wall Street Journal baby! I know that landing the story was on last year’s list of triumphs, but the story was so much bigger than we imagined, I’m claiming a second win.
Related: Hit the Apple news feed and momentarily outranked Taylor Swift.
Started a Simple IRA for the team, with employer match.
Created our first-ever look book. Pretty excited about this print piece, which will actually roll off the press early in 2023. Reach out if you want us to send you one!
Smashed my goal of hitting a Milllion in revenue.
Designed a Tahoe vacation home in record time. (Installation timeline did not exactly head for the record books though—we are still deep in supply chain challenges)
Said no to the wrong opportunities to leave room for the right ones.
Great press in Star Tribune
Fun feature on Midwest Home
Lovely story in Dream Kitchens and Baths
Landed a feature in national pub Country Home—coming next fall!
Amped up our custom design work, including custom furniture, built ins, etc
Placed more art by local artists then ever, including some commissions
Returned to yoga
Survived Covid round 2 (full family edition)
Bought a new car after mine was totaled by someone running a red light. Thankfully no one was hurt and insurance paid out. The new car is in the colors of the studio and I love the interiors.
Navigated the U of M registration plus public transportation with Clio, who is participating in the PSEO program and attending the U as a high school junior
Had my own house interiors repainted (it’s been on the to-do list for years) which gave me major renovation empathy.
Designed, created, and consistently used branded presentations for Kick off, Concept, and Final Design phases of our process.
Showed appreciation for my team’s consistent hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to jump in where needed through year-end bonuses.
