Dream Project: Stone Cottage
Have you been following along as we manifest our Dream Projects? The first three we shared were specific addresses here in the Twin Cities (though they also showcase vibes that could apply elsewhere.) Today I am sharing a category that I have always loved: the Stone Cottage. There are a number of these that I love to drive by in the Linden Hills neighborhood! There’s just something so fairytale-like about a small, stone-walled structure with crooked floors and exposed beams. I currently live in a relatively new house with fairly simple and “smooth” finishes, so I am drawn to the ease of a more aged and rustic interior.
Of course, we would not go straightforward in our decor. Yes, we’ve got some leather, but it is 1940s French. Yes, we’ve got some iron, but in the shape of Brutalist gild light pendant and a powder coated fish chair.
Of all of the design moods we have shared in this series, this most aligns with my current personal obsessions, including many of my favorite things: wicker, pottery, statement lighting, tramp art, patchwork, and the color red. In fact, my team said this could be my own country house.
Isn’t it just so cozy?
