“Heather Peterson Design helped me achieve a mix of finishes, textures, and furnishings that I would not have been able to create on my own. I appreciated the clear lines of communication and how they combined practicality with decadence. My space is now inviting yet composed, homey yet distinctive.”
Sarah’s second home was originally built in the 1700s and had some additions and modernizations along the way. The goal of the current renovation was to convert the garage to a family room and connect it to the main building with an entry, powder room, and hidden laundry space, while also updating the primary bathroom. We carried the language of the old home into the new with wide-plank nickel groove walls, bluestone floors, and reclaimed beams. Then we layered in modern finishes with classic roots, including tumbling block floors, bold marbleized wallpaper, and triangle tiles. The result is eclectic, chic, and utterly timeless.
