Dana and Dan are expats who have lived all over the world. Work may keep them moving, so our challenge was to make the house feel settled, but use pieces that can seamlessly transfer to another home—possibly on another continent. Neutral upholstery in different shades (some dark some light) can easily re-mix to suit other layouts, and every item is standard sized. The interest comes in the material mix—weathered wood, shapely metal—and the suite of dramatic lamps and vintage rugs, which can translate anywhere.
